   What is an ezine or newsletter? The quick answer to that is that an ezine is an electronic newsletter that you receive in your email inbox. An ezine can be about anything, and I mean anything! Let's say you are interested in mountain biking. It's quite likely that you've visited a few websites about mountain biking. It's also quite likely that some of these sites offered an ezine or newsletter that you could sign up for to receive more information about mountain biking on a regular basis.

Now you have a website. I'll assume that you have a lot of knowledge about the subject of your website. If so, it would be a very good idea to start publishing your own newsletter or ezine. Why? Simply because it is a great way to stay in contact with those who visit your site.

Let's break this down into a more understandable scenario. Someone visits your site. They like your site and decide to sign up for your newsletter. Every two weeks or so they receive that newsletter from you directly to their email inbox. They like what you have to say and they begin to see you as an expert in that field. As the months pass and this customer continues to read your ezines they begin to trust you. Within your ezine you have place just a couple of small, strategically placed ads. Because this person now trusts you they will be more willing to buy your products!

Don't you see? The ezine subscriber goes from being just a visitor to your site to one who is willing to buy from you because of the trust you've built through your ezine. Ezine subscribers are very valuable. It is these people that will continue to buy from you for years to come! The potential is enormous. A word of warning though, if you are going to start an ezine, don't just fill it with junk and ads, put some thought and good content into it!
