:: Classified Ad Promotion ::   When you hear about classified ads you probably immediately think about those fine print ads at the back of newspapers. The truth is that there are hundreds if not thousands of sites on the internet that act as big classified ad directories! These classified ad sites can be an excellent way to advertise your product or site. Many will tell you that these sites are overly saturated with ads and that your ad won't be seen. Not true! I continue to use ad sites and get great results from using them properly. There are two types of classified ad sites. The free ones and the pay ones. The free classified ad sites usually allow you to post your advertisement on a daily basis. The sites that ask you to pay will post your ad for a week, month or even a year for a certain amount of money. If you have the money and not much time, paying for your ads may be the route to go. But, if you have time and not much money, I would suggest posting to as many free classified sites as you can. Now, it's not just a matter of posting ads and people will buy. You need to post your ad to the appropriate category! If you're trying to sell books then post your ad in the "book" category, not the "vehicles for sale" category! You need to target your ad to the right group of people. Within your ad tell them exactly what you're selling, but don't tell them everything. The purpose of your ad should be to entice the visitor to visit your website or product page. Your ad does not need to "sell" to your visitor right then and there, your site will do that! Also, make sure you track your ads! It is very important to know which ads are working and who is sending you visitors. If you have a website you should have a weblog program that will tell you exactly where your visitors are coming from! If you submitted your ad to site A and site A is not sending you any visitors then it may not be worth posting your ad on site A anymore! However, if you post your ad to site B, and site B is sending you 10 visitors a day you'll want to continue posting there! If you do this for several months, you'll only be posting ads to sites that actually send you traffic. CLASSIFIED AD DIRECTORIES:
